Humorous Quotations
Issue #55
August 2, 2003

Hi Friends,

"I do benefits for all religions -- I'd hate to blow
the hereafter on a technicality."
~ Bob Hope

At 9.28 last Sunday, while you were probably going
through the 'Baldness' issue of Humorous Quotes, Bob
Hope passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was a
100 years and 59 days old (pipping George Burns who
was 100 years and 49 days old when he died on 9th
March 1996, a quip goal of Hope in his last few years.)
Naturally your wz-ard drops other topics and focusses
the next few issues on a 100 years of comic one-liners
and most humorous quotes by Bob Hope...

"I left England at the age of four when I found out
I couldn't be king."

"I grew up with six brothers. That's how I learned to dance -
waiting for the bathroom."

(Asked shortly before a tour to Vietnam if he was worth
50 million dollars)
"If I had $50 million, I wouldn't go to Vietnam; I'd send for it."

"Golf is a game that needlessly prolongs the lives of some
of our most useless citizens."

(Under the circumstances we drop our customary
practice and begin with the end)

To wind up this issue...

(To President Kennedy when he was being presented
with a gold medal for 'services to his country'. )
"I feel very humble, but I think I have the strength
of character to fight it."
